ANTH 4345 ANTHROPOLOGICAL THEORY AND METHODOLOGY Instruction in the methodology (interviewing, participant observation, network analysis, etc.) and theoretical perspectives of anthropology. Prerequisite: 6 hours of anthropology.

GRADING
Grades will be based on A) a term paper/class report, ) two mid-terms and C) on the basis of two field work assignments.

A. Papers are Due: Wednesday, May 2, 2001.
Term paper proposals are due on Friday, February 2, 2001.

B. Mid Terms:

Mid Term 1:Monday, March 5, 2001.
Mid Term 2: Monday, April 30, 2001.

C. Field work assignments:

1: Medical Anthropology (Thirty forms).

2: La Llorona (Fifteen forms).

Grade Breakdown: Term paper 30% of grade; Mid-terms 25% of grade each (Total of 50% for both); Field work: 20% of grade. Make-up exams will be available for mid-terms.
