ANTH 1323:
INTRODUCTION TO CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY
An introduction to cultural anthropology.
Major aspects of culture (social organization, economics,
religion, etc.), cultural patterns and socio-cultural
change are emphasized (Formerly SOC 2323; may not be
repeated for credit.).
Course Objectives:
- 1. The major objective of this course is to learn
about cultural diversity. To achieve this goal we
will review the basic terminology and concepts of
anthropology through cross cultural materials.
2. A second goal of the course is to
achieve a better understanding of our way of life in the
in the USA, and in the Valley by comparing our culture
and sub cultures to the way of life of others.
3..Finally the course will try to achieve
an understanding of anthropological data, and to collect
ethnographic information.
