University Testing Services and High School to University Programs

University Testing Services, located at the Academic Annex Building on 2412 S. Closner Blvd, provides quality testing for incoming freshmen, graduate schools, and credit by examination. Supporting the University’s effort to increase access to higher education, High School to University Services develops and maintains programs and activities designed to encourage public school students to pursue the highest levels of academic achievement in preparation for college and beyond. The department offers both on-campus and distance learning Concurrent Enrollment opportunities for academically talented high school juniors and seniors, sponsors Advanced Placement Summer Institute training for AP and Pre-AP teachers in collaboration with the College Board, presents in-service training on current topics for educational professionals, certifies substitute teachers for a number of area school districts and promotes the Texas Scholars initiative in high schools throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Additionally, ESS Design Services, a component of High School to University Services, oversees all phases of the development and production of printed publications for departments within the Division of Enrollment and Student Services.
