Provides consultation on the design, recommended specifications, and installation of media presentation technology in classrooms, conference rooms, and other spaces on the UTPA campus. These specialized systems include hardware such as display devices and their accessories, sound systems and loudspeakers, specialized computing systems, and other video systems.
Information regarding the latest trends in equipment appropriate for University environments and applications is provided to the customer during consultation meetings which assist in making the most appropriate decisions for the customer’s audio/visual needs. Technology installations are provided or supervised by this department for end users and support personnel. Consultation with customers includes providing specifications and price estimates for new systems and/or replacement systems. Standardizing on specific model numbers already available throughout campus saves the University money by enabling bulk purchases of parts and replacements.
Service is available during normal University business Hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.
The consultation portion of this service is provided at no charge, however the equipment in some cases the installation will be the responsibility of the requesting department.
