Shredding Service for University sensitive and confidential materials

The Records and Information Management program supplies secure portable bins within which departments store their confidential/sensitive trash. Empty bins replace the full ones on a regular schedule. The materials are cross-cut shredded using commercial grade equipment. Shredded paper is recycled using a commercial service.

Departments with materials containing sensitive or confidential information are required to dispose of the materials in a manner that guarantees the sensitive or confidential information is not disclosed. For small quantities small office shredders are sufficient. For larger quantities, the RIM service will deliver and pick up the bins and shred the contents. The bins are secured at all times with a lock on the bin and located within locked areas on the campus and at the Haggar Records Center.
