Blackboard is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, and reporting of course content. Blackboard courses can range from web augmented, which may only include class notes, to fully online, which incorporate everything from class notes, assignments and assessments to live or recorded class lectures, discussion rooms and live chat sessions. This service is supported by the Center for Online Learning, Teaching and Technology.
Blackboard allows instructors to upload class notes for student use, provide a place for students to discuss course topics, or/and to keep students up to date on any course changes. Students can supplement their study sessions with course materials provided by the instructor. Students and Faculty have access to Blackboard course materials 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Blackboard allows our students to be introduced to various technologies, such as web conferencing, which will be useful in their future careers.
