Re-Enable WLAN Client

Purpose

The purpose of this procedure is to re-enable a wireless client at the request of Information Security.

Scope

This is intended to provide a procedure that will result in re-enabling a wireless node.

Prerequisites

Network services will need a formal request from Information Security requesting a wireless node to be re-enabled. Information Security will also need to provide the IP address, MAC address or any other information needed to properly identify the wireless node.

Responsibilities

Network Services will be responsible to re-enable wireless access. Network access throughout the wireless network will be re-enabled for the specific MAC address.

Procedure

  1. Receive request from Information Security
  2. Network Services will re-enable wireless access for the wireless node.

Information Security – UTPA Information Security Personnel.
Network Services – UPTA Network Services Personnel.
Wireless Node – Laptop, PDA, Computer using the UTPA wireless network
MAC – Network Interface Card burned in physical address
