Locate Wireless Client

Purpose

The purpose of this procedure is to locate a wireless client at the request of Information Security.

Scope

This is intended to provide a procedure that will result in locating a wireless node on the UTPA wireless network.

Prerequisites

Network services will need a formal request from Information Security requesting a wireless node to be located. Information Security will also need to provide the IP address, MAC address or any other information needed to properly identify the wireless node.

Responsibilities

Network Services will be responsible for tracking and locating the wireless network node on the UTPA wireless network.

Procedure

  1. Receive request from Information Security
  2. Network Services will locate the wireless node on UTPA wireless network
  3. Network Services will notify Information Security of the approximate location of the wireless node.
