Guest Wireless Access

Purpose

The purpose of this procedure is to inform the UTPA community and UTPA guests who are requesting special wireless network access.

Scope

This is intended to provide a procedure for UTPA community and UTPA guests requesting special network access for sanctioned UTPA events.

Prerequisites

Network Services has enabled Guest wireless access for use by individuals or Groups attending a sanctioned UTPA event.

Responsibilities

Network Services is responsible for up-keep of guest wireless network where current UTPA wireless access is available.

Procedure

  1. Network Services will make the Guest wireless network available where current UTPA access is available.
  2. UTPA Guest may request guest wireless access from Academic Services – Service Desk.
  3. Once the UTPA guest has been assigned valid UTPA Guest credentials, Service Desk will configure the guest wireless node.
