Student Life & Transition Services
The Student Life and Transition Services Office (SLTS) is responsible for implementing first year out of classroom experiences, leadership opportunities, fostering an appreciation of diversity and development of civic responsibility for UTPA students. SLTS will support students by creating an environment that supports their academic success by providing mentors, educational programs and resources.
SLTS provides:
A peer, staff and faculty mentor opportunity for all first year students in order to assist with a smooth transition from High School to the University.
Leadership opportunities within the University and the surrounding community in order to develop a servant-leader attitude.
Student awareness by promoting positive choices and management skills and student conduct.
Programs and activities that celebrate the elements of diversity of the Universities' population.
