Mark Cunningham is an
Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Geology. Dr.
Cunningham received his Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear physics from
Yale University in 1982, where he was named the Simkins Fellow in
1977. Dr. Cunningham also earned his M.S. from Yale University in
1978 and a B.S. from Rice University in 1976.
Dr. Cunningham has held a number of industrial positions, serving as
a senior scientist and manager at Schlumberger (geophysics and
remote sensing), OYO Geospace (geophysical instrumentation) and
Rudolph Technologies (semiconductor metrology) and as an independent
consultant studying non-destructive testing. His principle research
interests involve the numerical simulation of physical systems and
most recently he has focused on the simulation of large biomolecular
systems, particularly enzyme systems. This work was conducted at
Argonne National Laboratory and Northwestern University Medical
School where Dr. Cunningham served as a research associate.
