Bachelor of Science in Physical Science
Bachelor of Science in Physical Science, with
expected outcome of teacher certification, is
specifically designed to enable future educators
to gain solid training and education in the areas
of chemistry and physics. The future graduates
will have a leadership role in improving science
education and in enabling the youth, and the
South Texas community in general, to become
more scientifically literate.
Through partnerships with the South Texas
community, school district faculty and
administrators, as well as UTPA faculty and
administrators, and with the support of regional
business and industry, it is our vision to provide
the community with a long-standing, self-sustaining
program that provides a sufficient pool of well qualified
science teachers needed to support
the mission of the South Texas school districts
of providing quality education to students in
the areas of chemistry and physics so that these
students are academically prepared for success at
the University level.
