Marcos Sanchez

Two years Marcos Sanchez picked up a paint brush. "As long as I can remember, I have always been interested in visual arts," said Sanchez.

Coloration is one of the important features in his paintings. "I try to achieve color balance with both warm and cool colors in a rhythmic way." His mediums include charcoal, pen & ink, acrylics, oils and watercolors. "I have been influenced by such artists as Cezzan, Picasso and Mateese," said Sanchez.

His paintings have been exhibited at the McAllen Cultural Center and McAllen International Museum. Sanchez has also painted several murals for the Pharr Independent School District. Sanchez has been truly appreciative of UTPA and its staff. "The art faculty has been a huge help in my development as an artist," he added.

After graduation, Sanchez plans to attend a professional art school to expand his knowledge. In return, he hopes to one day teach the skills which he has learned and developed.
