Overseas, he has appeared as accompanist in a well-reviewed Leider-Abend recital in Graz, Austria and a benefit concert for the Israeli ambulance service in Hannover, Germany. His book, “The Rachmaninoff Reader: Visions & Revisions” is currently in preparation and is expected for publication in 2006. Grossman has studied with a number of pianists of note including: Earle C. Voorhies (a pupil of Joseph Lhevinne); Edith Knox (a student of Rachmaninoff’s cousin, Alexander Siloti); and Vronsky and Babin. At Indiana University, Grossman’s principal teacher was Sidney Foster (a student of Isabelle Vengerova) and two pupils of Josef Hoffman: (1) Jorge Bolet and (2) Abbey Simon. Studies with John Ogdon (1977-78) followed Mr. Foster’s sudden and unexpected passing in Grossman’s final year at Indiana University.
