The interdisciplinary program in Latin American Studies offers a Bachelors of Arts in Latin American Studies and a minor in Latin American Studies. Students who major in Latin American Studies will choose one of three concentrations. All students must take an introductory course in Latin American Studies (LAMS 2301) and a capstone seminar in Latin American Studies (LAMS 4301).

Students who major in Latin American Studies pursue careers in governmental and non-governmental agencies throughout Latin America and the US in areas such as border protection, customs, environmental protection, public health, human rights advocacy, economic development and international relations among many others. Majors in Latin American Studies may also pursue graduate study in Latin American Studies, Language and Literature, History, Sociology, Anthropology or Public Health. Some majors elect to begin a teaching career through programs such as Teach for America while others serve in the Peace Corps. Whatever your chosen career path, a degree in Latin American Studies can help you navigate through it.
