Fulbright Programs for U.S. Scholars

Fulbright Scholar Programs offer U.S. faculty, administrators and professionals grants to lecture, do research or participate in seminars.

  1. Traditional Fulbright Scholar Program
    • Offers U.S. faculty and professionals grants to lecture, do research or participate in seminars. Deadline - August 1, 2006
       
  2. Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program
    • Awards in the Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program are viewed as among the most prestigious appointments in the Fulbright Scholar Program.
    • Candidates should be senior scholars and have a significant publication and teaching record.
    • Applicants should submit hard copies of the Distinguished Chairs Application Form (one page), a letter of interest (about three pages), a curriculum vitae (maximum eight pages) and a sample syllabus (maximum four pages) by the May 1, 2006 deadline.
    • Following a review during early summer, scholars selected for the short list for each chair will be asked to complete a full application by August 1, 2006
       
  3. Fulbright International Educational Administrators Seminar Program
    • Sends U.S. administrators to Germany, Japan and Korea for two- to three-week summer seminars, and brings administrators from Japan and Korea to the United States for similar seminars.
      Deadline - November 1, 2006 (Korea & Japan), February 1, 2007 (Germany)
       
  4. Fulbright German Studies Seminars Program
    • Sends U.S. academics and professionals to Germany to participate in a three-week summer seminar on current German society and culture.
      Deadline - November 1, 2006
       
  5. Fulbright Senior Specialist Programs
    • Short-term academic opportunities (two to six weeks) for U.S. faculty and professionals. Rolling Deadline

Fulbright Global Programs for U.S. and non-U.S. Scholars

  1. Fulbright Global Century Scholars Program
    • Brings 30 top academics and professionals from around the world together each year to collaborate on an issue of global importance.
      Deadline - July 17, 2006
       
  2. Fulbright Alumni Initiatives Awards Program
    • Offers follow-on grants for Fulbright Scholar alumni. Deadline TBA

Fulbright Programs for Visiting (Non-U.S.) Scholars and U.S. Institutions

Fulbright Programs that support the research and teaching of visiting (Non-U.S.) scholars and the institutions that host them.

  1. Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
    • Arranges for Visiting (Non-U.S.) Scholars to receive grants for advanced research and university lecturing in the United States.
      Deadline - October 16, 2006
       
  2. Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program: Direct Access to the Muslim World
    • Designed to promote understanding of the Muslim World and civilization
      Deadline for U.S. institutions: June 1, 2006
