Gifted and Talented Program

The Masters Degree Program in Gifted Education at The University of
Texas-Pan American prepares educators to assume responsible leadership positions in the education of gifted and talented learners.

Admission Requirements for the Graduate School of Education

  1. Application to the Office of Admission and Records.

  2. Official transcripts of all prior undergraduate and graduate courses to the Office of Admissions and Records.

  3. Office score Graduate Record  Examination (GRE) score reports to the Office of Admissions and Records.

  4. Admission Requirements for the Masters Degree in Gifted Education.

  5. Official transcripts of all prior graduate work and official GRE score reports.

  6. Bachelor's Degree from a college or university accredited by the regional accrediting association for the region in which the institution is located.

  7. 3.0 Graduate Admission Grade Point Average (G.P.A) or above on a 4.0 scale in the last 60 semester or 90 quarter hours completed.

  8. Minimum composite Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score or 800 or more (sum of verbal and quantitative).

  9. Three letters of recommendation regarding professional and academic potential.Interview with the chairperson of the Department of Educational Psychology Coordinator of Gifted Programs.

  10. Valid teaching certificate and two years teaching experience.
