2008 Calendar of Events
Hello my fellow CSI members,
As you all are aware, there will be a service opportunity for us to go
and help a school in Mexico on November 23-24th, 2008. They are
in desperate need of school supplies therefore we have generated a list
of supplies that they can benefit from. We are asking that you
find it in your heart to donate whatever you can. Remember that if you
can make it a monetary donation as well and that for every $5 that you
donate CSI will match it (doubling it to $10). We are also considering
granting service hours for donating either supplies or money. The exact
time given per supplies/money donated will be announced at the meeting.
If you are planning on attending please e-mail me by November 18, 2008
so we can make the appropriate accommodations. (There will also be a
sign in sheet at the Nov 18th meeting) On that date as well, November
18, 2008, you can bring your donations to our meeting or you can drop
them off at Dr. Castillo’s office during her office hours.
Below you will find the school supplies list as well as the requirements needed to go into Mexico.

Destination: Hacienda Concepcion
Service Event Dates: November 23-24th, 2008
Departure time: Nov. 23rd at 6:00am
Return time: Nov. 24th around 2 or 3pm
Transportation: Dr. Quilantan and Maria Teresa have
volunteered their vehicles (thank you) and depending on the number of
members attending we might be looking for other volunteers, so if you
are interested in volunteering you vehicle please let me or Dr.
Castillo know.

primary composition notebooks (white space on top and lines on the bottom)
manila drawing paper (12x18, 50 count)
1-inch 3-ring binder
sheet protectors
plastic pocket folders with brads
pink erasers
Beginner's Pencil (fat ones)
4- count Crayola Washable Finger Paint
Play-Doh, 4 count
plastic school supply box
Fiskars scissors, blunt end
Elmer's glue (white)
glue sticks
scotch tape
Kleenex
Crayola crayons 24 count
index cards, 3x5 or 4x6
instant hand sanitizer gel (not liquid soap)
Ziploc freezer bags, gallon size
Ziploc bags, pint or quart size
paper plates, 6" or 9"
paper towels
baby wipes or Lysol disinfecting wipes

Requirements for going into Mexico:
Personal Permiso
-you will need to purchase a permiso
-present your passport or birth certificate along with your driver’s license
Permiso with a car
-Credit Card
-License plate renewal from or original title
-insurance
-Driver’s license

students with 9 or more credit hours and aminimum GPA of 3.5 are
