MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN OF STUDENTS
Dear students and friends:
Welcome to the website for the Office of the Dean of Students! The staff and I are here to help make your experience at UTPA as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. How do we do this? In a nut shell, we serve students in two fundamental ways:
Being involved in a student organization, intramural sport team, or other involvement opportunity provides many valuable learning experiences that will prove beneficial to students long after they graduate.
Indeed, many of the qualities employers and graduate programs desire (such as team work, tolerance, empathy, communication, and leadership) can be enhanced and developed through out-of-class involvement opportunities.
Our job is to be an advocate for students and their education. Whether they have a simple question or major concern, students can contact the Office of the Dean of Students for information and guidance.
For more insight into what the Dean of Students Office is all about, I encourage you to check out our Mission/Learning Outcomes. This mission outlines the specific outcomes and experiences our programs aspire to foster for UTPA students.
Again, my staff and I welcome you. Feel free to stop by and see us anytime.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jerry Price
