For those requesting admission to math/science collaborative
Procedure for receiving tuition grant money:
Be accepted for admission to graduate school UTPA.
Be accepted for Admission to Elementary or Secondary Masters program.
Be accepted for Admission to Math/Science Collaborative.
Funds are available when grant money is available.
Each semester, you ask Dr. McBride if funds are available, you register yourself and then take the registration slip to Dr. McBride who will then pay
for the registration if you are accepted, funds are available and you are a student in good standing.
As a member of the math/science collaborative, you will be eligible for tuition support for some of the classes you take in your master's
degree. Based upon availability of funding, the collaborative will pay for one course each semester. In the event that you should not complete
the course, you will be responsible for repaying the tuition money paid by the Collaborative for the course. No payments will be paid for you by
the Collaborative until you have reimbursed funds for the amount of the tuition paid for you by the Collaborative. Anyone receiving an "Incomplete"
will not be eligible for tuition payments by the Collaborative until the "Incomplete" is cleared and replaced by an "A" or a "B" unless a waiver,
submitted in writing, is requested and approved. All students are responsible for meeting the requirement of the UTPA graduate catalog.
It is the responsibility of each student to notify Dr. Tevis or Dr. McBride if he/she does not plan to attend any fall, spring, summer after
admission. Failure to notify will result in removal from the program, and the student must reapply for admission. All course schedules must be
approved by Dr. Tevis, your Graduate Advisor, and only approved courses will be reimbursed. Reimbursement is dependent on the availability of funds.
