The time frame of what needs to be done for example meeting with an advisor or program coordinator to get more information, being interview by the program coordinator, applying to graduate program, meeting with advisor for a thesis (if applicable). The steps students would need to be aware of when going through the applying process to graduation application.

• Step 1. Contact Program Coordinator, Dr. Leo Gómez, for updated program information
• Step 2. Apply to UTPA Graduate School and clear for university admission
• Step 3. Take courses from specialization area selected (if applicable) prior to starting with the fall cohort
• Step 4. Submit M. Ed. program documents (certification, employment, essay, letters of recommendation) no later than August 1st
• Step 5. Enroll for the first two courses listed in program for fall semester
• Step 6. Complete and submit degree plan (will be done through EDBE 6324 course)
• Step 7. Apply for Graduation semester before anticipated completion of program (see university deadlines for spring or summer graduation)
• Step 8. Complete Bilingual Education Oral and Written Comprehensive Exams (last spring semester of program...will prepare through EDBE 6319 course)
