Prospective students must be accepted into the UTPA Graduate School before they can be accepted into the Bilingual M. Ed. program. Once a prospective student has met the UTPA Graduate School requirements and receives an acceptance letter, they are ready to apply to the Bilingual M. Ed. Program (see application form). Prospective students should contact Dr. Leo Gómez, Graduate Program Coordinator, at lgomez@utpa.edu or 956.381.3629, for advisement before enrolling in any courses in the program since students enroll in the program as a “cohort.”
Once students have completed the application process they need to fill out a degree plan and get it signed by their advisor and the chair of the department.
