Port Isabel/South Padre Island
Weekend Fishing Outlook

June 8, 2009

Capt. Russell Robinson,
R & R Hi-Way Bait Stand and Marina
Port Isabel, Texas

Bait recommended this week is finger mullet and live shrimp under R & R popping cork.

Gas-well Flats and Un-necessary Island are the hot spots for this week. Fishing for the week is rated a 4. Captain Russell's comment for this week is even with the full moon there is still good catches to be had, live bait under R & R popping cork makes things easy, find the dirty water. For best results - get a jump on all the boats and get out early. Having your line in the water early may make the difference between a good fishing trip and a great one. Good luck and good fishing.

Bait availability: Plenty of live shrimp and some fresh dead in places. Good medium size shrimp should be available throughout the weekend. Frozen mullet, squid, shads, ribbon fish, ballyhoo and a few live ballyhoo are all available.

2 fish= the worst day fishing is better than the best day at work - right?
1 fish= good day for cleaning out tackle box
