BRONCS SIGN JASON DUHON

EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American's baseball team has added its fourth recruit for the fall.

Left-handed pitcher Jason Duhon will transfer from Grayson County College in Denison, Texas next month, and will be eligible immediately, with four years of eligibility. He is from Abbeville, Louisiana, where he attended Abbeville High School.

Duhon signed to play at McNeese State University after his high school career, but opted to attend Grayson instead, where he redshirted last season. Duhon went 27-8 in high school, earning All-District honors both as a pitcher and as a utility player. As a first baseman, he hit .415 with five home runs as a senior, and was a four-year starter. His amateur team finished sixth in the National Baseball Congress World Series last year. He played in the Babe Ruth League playoffs four times, twice playing for the World Series champions, and was named to the Babe Ruth World Series All-Defensive Team.

"Jason is a proven winner," said UTPA Head Coach Willie Gawlik. "He has a good fastball and a good curveball, he's a great addition to our pitching staff, and he's a great person. We're very excited about him being here in January."
