Ryne Foster, a left-handed pitcher from Cedar Park High School, and Cedar Park, TX, will join the Broncs for the fall of 2003. He will enter as a freshman, with four years of eligibility. Foster went 5-3 with a 2.12 ERA as a sophomore, walking 14 and fanning 36 while completing four of seven starts. He was named first team All-District, and CPHS was the District 17-4A champion. He played for the Austin Wings last summer, and plans to play for them again in the summer of 2003. "Ryne has a good chance to contribute as a freshman," said UTPA Head Coach Willie Gawlik. "He can throw strikes, he's always around the plate, and he has good poise, good character, and he's a competitor, and those are the kinds of things we're looking for. He's a hard worker, a good student of the game, and he's very poised." BA-06-03 112102 |
