In addition, Uchacz is responsible for the implementation of the Freshman/Transfer Orientation program; various study skills workshops; NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills seminars; coordination of tutorial services; and acting as the Student-Athlete Advisory Council liaison. Uchacz came to Texas-Pan American from the University of Illinois, where he served on the Academic Advising Staff working in the Athletics Department's Wellness Program while counseling student-athletes. Currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Kinesiology at The University of Illinois where he is studying the interrelationship between sport, global culture and the internet, Uchacz holds a Master’s Degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, and an Honors Degree in Physical Education from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. Uchacz competed as a student-athlete in both soccer and crew while attending Brock. |
