Okmulgee High School: Standout for Okmulgee High School where he was named All-State in Oklahoma as a senior…  He was selected to the all-star team twice at OHS and was his team captain as a senior…  Batted .483 with seven home runs, 15 doubles, 48 RBI at the plate…  Also strong on the mound with a 2.10 earned run average, a 9-1 record and 69 strikeouts in 50 innings of work… Led his team to three state tournament appearances.
