| Overview: |
We are pleased to announce an advanced computer lab on using census data in grant writing. The lab will feature data from the 2010 Census and the American Community Survey (ACS), the most relied-on source for detailed, up-to-date socio-economic statistics covering every community in Texas. Who should come? The lab is designed for participants who attended Using Census Data for Grant Writing in August, 2012 or who have basic navigation skills with the American Fact Finder2, Census 2010 and ACS. The Grant Writing II computer lab will feature latest updates for 2010 Census and The American Community Survey. In a live computer lab setting, students will use a case study to practice mapping techniques, use tables to access ACS social/economic characteristics and 2010 Census demographic profiles. The focus will be on understanding when to use what data sets, application of ACS data products, understanding geographic concepts, and improving navigation efficiency. |
