Approval to take a TExES Representative Exam (Practice Test):
A TExES Representative Exam Registration form is required for all students.
For approval to take Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities (PPRs), Bilingual Generalist and Generalist practice exams: contact Mary Gonzales (gonzalesmr@utpa.edu).
For all other content areas (i.e. English, Math, Biology, etc.): contact the department’s authorized representative for approval.
Submit the TExES Representative Exam Form to the Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services, EDCC 1.302, by the appropriate designated deadline.
Requirements for Registration and Testing:
Read and accurately complete the registration form. Make sure that the Program Coordinator signs the registration application (only applications with authorized signatures on the applications will be accepted).
Submit the completed Registration Form with your $15 exam fee to the Office of Payments and Collections located at the Student Services Building Room 1.145.
Proceed to the Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services at EDCC 1.302 to formally register for the exam once receipt is issued at Payments and Collections. EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2009: The receipt given to you from Payments and Collections must be kept with your original registration form. Please make a copy of receipt for your records. It is YOUR responsibility to turn in your completed application to the Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services with correct information, field number and exam name.
WALK-INS will NOT be allowed on the day of exam. If the Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services DOES NOT have an application on file, you will not be allowed to test.
On the day of the exam, you must:
Report to the testing location at least 15 minutes before your test time.
Bring valid photo ID (current driver’s license, school ID and/or passport). You will not be admitted without proper ID.
