Approval to take a TExES Representative Exam (Practice Test):

• For content areas (i.e. English, Math, Biology, etc.): contact the department’s authorized representative for approval.

Submit the TExES Representative Exam Registration Form to the Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services, EDUC 3.240, by the appropriate designated deadline.

Requirements for Registration and Testing:

1. Read and accurately complete the registration form. Make sure that the Program Coordinator signs the authorization application (only applications with authorized signatures on the applications will be accepted).
2. EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2012: Please visit www.utpa.edu/step to register for an exam. A $25.00 exam fee will apply at time of online registration.
3. To finalize registration process, go to the Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services at EDUC 3.240. EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2012: A printed receipt of your online registration must be submitted with your original authorization form. Please make a copy of receipt for your records. It is YOUR responsibility to turn in your completed application to the Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services with correct information, field number and exam name.
4. WALK-INS will NOT be allowed on the day of exam.

On the day of the exam, you must:

1. Report to the testing location at least 15 minutes before your test time.
2. Bring valid photo ID (current driver’s license, school ID and/or passport). You will not be admitted without proper ID.
3. If the Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services DOES NOT have an application on file, you will NOT be allowed to test.
