eClose-ups Home Dr. Pete Farruggio and Dr. Michael Guerrero were commissioned to write a refereed paper entitled: The CASSO Plan for Improving Bilingual Teacher Preparation through Curricular Modification. They presented the paper on May 1, 2009 at the Linguistic Minority Research Institute Conference in Irvine, California and organized by the University of California System.

Bobby Guinn and Donna Dugas, Department of Health and Kinesiology, and Dr. Vern Vincent, Department of CIS and Quantitative Methods, presented the paper, “Stress Mediators in Adult Mexican Americans,” to the Research Section of the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Annual Convention, Corpus Christi, December, 2008.

Drs. Guinn, Dugas, and Vincent also presented the paper, “Stress Resilience Among Border Mexican American Women,” at the Research Consortium of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance National Convention, Tampa, FL, April, 2009.

Additionally, Drs. Guinn, Dugas, and Vincent published the research article, “Stress Resilience Among Border Mexican American Women,” in the May, 2009 issue of the refereed Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences.
