Title IX Sexual harassment, sexual violence and other gender-based harassment occurring in the college setting implicates a federal law called Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex (gender) in education programs or activities and which triggers certain responsibilities on the part of the university. The University encourages students to immediately consult with or report incidents of sex discrimination, sexual harassment (including sexual violence) or sexual misconduct to the Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX coordinators for reports related to student victims or issues.
We invite all UTPA students to attend one of these sessions and learn more.
