Use your military experience to earn college credit. The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers you the opportunity to earn up to 12 college credits by passing any of 33 exams. There are 2,900 colleges and universities in the United States that will recognize your comprehensive subject knowledge acquired through course work, independent study, cultural pursuits, travel, special interests, military service schools, and professional development.
To assist military personnel in meeting their educational goals, the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) funds CLEP exams for eligible military service members and eligible civilian employees.
CLEP exams are free to the following eligible military personnel and eligible civilian employees. Military veterans can seek reimbursement from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for CLEP exams and fees.
