Registration FormThe UTPA volleyball team is holding three positional day camps and a two-day all skills camp at the UTPA Fieldhouse in July. Space is limited, as, just like in the past, the camper-to-coach ratio will be kept at or near 10:1 to ensure that participants have access to individual attention. Positional Day Camps Monday, July 15 – Libero CampThis camp will address the defensive, serve receive, and serving techniques as well as game-situation concepts specific to the role of libero. This is also an opportunity for any player looking for more repetition in the area of ball control. Tuesday, July 16 – Setter CampThis camp will offer high volume setting repetitions and technical training while also introducing concepts such as strategic decision making and play sets. Wednesday, July 17 – Hitter CampThis camp is designed to present the fundamentals of attacking and blocking. High volume repetitions of arm-swing and approach techniques will be provided as well as attention to passing and defense within game situations. All positional day camps are open to girls and boys ages 10 through 18. Participants will be grouped by age and skill level. The positional day camps are $80 each. Each camp runs from 9 a.m.-to-4 p.m. with a lunch break from 12-to-1 p.m. Lunch is not included, but campers with a packed lunch will be supervised during the break. Each camper will receive a free t-shirt. Checks can be made payable to UTPA Volleyball Camp. Check-in at the UTPA Fieldhouse runs 8:30-to-9 a.m. Two-Day All Skills Camp Thursday, July 18 through Friday, July 19This is an intensive camp designed for advanced players, ages 14-to-18. Players will not only be trained in all individual skills, but also in team skills and concepts. Offensive, defensive, and serve receive patterns will be addressed; ending with 6-on-6 tournament play during the final session. The cost of the two-day all skills camp is $280 for anyone wishing to stay overnight and $200 for anyone who will only be on campus for the sessions. Two lunches and one dinner are included for all campers, while those spending the night will also receive breakfast on Friday. All campers will receive a t-shirt.
