Minority Affairs Council (MAC) at UTPA
2nd Annual DREAM University
WHAT: The Minority Affairs Council (MAC) will be hosting its 2nd Annual DREAM University on Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 at the University of Texas-Pan American.
WHEN: Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd, 2013
WHY: The mission of MAC is to harness the talents, abilities and determination of youth, particularly college students, to affect change in a proactive manner towards political and social issues among the minority community. DREAM University will help increase awareness about the undocumented population in the Rio Grande Valley by addressing the dilemma faced by young people who were brought into the United States years ago as undocumented immigrant children, but who have since grown up in the United States and wish to continue their education on to college, as well as the struggles their families undergo. The topics discussed in this training will help prepare and strategize our community as the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Movement moves forward in the upcoming months.
Every person interested in attending this educational training, must fill out a registration form by Monday, February 25th, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. UTPA students can register through Bronc Link at http://utpa.edu/Bronclink.
