UTPA SBDC Business Advisor Janie Caballero outperforms again.
Janie Caballero, a Senior Business Advisor at The University of Texas-Pan American Small Business Development Center (UTPA SBDC), has been announced as the 2013 “State Star” for the South-West Texas SBDC Network due to her outstanding work performance.
Janie earned this year’s top honor with some of these performance results:
• Over 222 total client jobs created and maintained
• 27 client businesses started and expanded
• 39 client capital formations totaling over $54 million
• Over 1,000 hours of advising effort
A Certified Business Advisor (CBA) IV at the UTPA SBDC, Janie was the “State Star” for 2012 as well. Specializing in topics such as customer service and restaurants, Janie is also proficient in counseling clients in healthcare businesses and Mexican clients seeking to invest directly in the area. She continually strives for accomplishments and has worked diligently to obtain her CBA IV re-certification, a credential attesting to her technical ability in business development counseling and training. As a senior Business Advisor, she also provides mentorship and leadership to junior advisors and support staff.
UTPA SBDC Director Maria Juarez-Serna asserts that Janie continues to exhibit exemplary actions that support the organization’s mission and values. She is not at all surprised, albeit quite pleased, that Janie is once again the “State Star” for this year and adds that Janie “has held steadfast in contributing impact and has provided great support to the overall operations of the SBDC”.
The UTPA SBDC will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support Janie’s participation in the 2013 ASBDC National Conference in Orlando, Florida, where she will receive the National ASBDC Star Performer Award for the South-West Texas Border SBDC Network.
