Program Requirements:
-Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA in all areas of degree plan
(Major, Minor, Professional Education & Other requirements area)
-Need to have tested for TExES content exam (elementary majors only) ELEMENTARY MAJORS ONLY: TExES CONTENT EXAM (191 OR 192) SCORE REPORT DUE TO OFFICE OF FIELD EXPERIENCES BEFORE AUGUST 1, 2013 IN ORDER FOR APPLICATION TO BE SCREENED.
-Completed all required Early Field hours (or be in the process)
-Be within 12 hours of graduation
-Must have completed all Education courses (or be currently enrolled)
-Met all other program requirements for the department of your major
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
FRIDAY, APRIL 5, 2013 BY 5PM.
(Student Teaching is a 16-week practicum that begins prior to UTPA classes each semester. Mandatory program orientation on Wednesday, August 14th, plan to begin field week of August 12th-16th)
Any students seeking exemption status must also complete an application (EAE) with our office. These students must meet all requirements mentioned above as well as submit official Financial Aid Educational Aide Exemption award letter and meet directed electives & advanced hour requirement.
