WebCAPE is an examination offered by UTPA Testing Services and approved by the Department of Modern Languages for demonstrating second language proficiency. The purpose of WEBCAPE is to use it to help students meet the language proficiency and graduation requirement which is currently part of the undergraduate degree programs. A student graduating from UTPA under a degree plan with the 43 Hour Core Curriculum is required to demonstrate language proficiency in a language other than English at the undergraduate level equivalent to six semester credit hours. Available language exams are: Spanish, French or German.
