What is the MLK Day of Service?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'" Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on the King Holiday to serve their neighbors and communities. The MLK Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the President's national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems.

The Office for Student Involvement's Community Service Connection invites you to join faculty, staff, students, and administrators in building our RGV community by framing the Sapphire House in honor of UTPA's 85 years. What better way to commemorate the University and this special day than kicking off the building of this new home for one Valley family. This special project is being led by the Habitat for Humanity-UTPA Chapter and Habitat Humanity of the Rio Grande Valley. Click on the image below to register.
