8485-IWB Study Abroad Scholarship Applications Now Available

The International Women's Board of the UTPA Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications from students interested in studying abroad in Summer 2013.   The IWB provides a limited number of students with partial financial assistance for university sanctioned summer programs which involve travel outside the United States. The program is highly competitive. Preference is given to upper classmen with a minimum of 70 hours and to graduate students. All applicants should have completed the core curriculum, have a GPA of 3.2, and have excellent references.  This scholarship/stipend applies to both genders and to UTPA international students . Requirements: A one-page cover letter, including why this experience will be helpful to your department, a description of where you are going and if possible a copy of a brochure from the institution, current transcript and resume and two recommendation letters from UTPA professors.  Deadline: 5 p.m. Feb. 22, 2013. Drop off at the International Trade & Technology Building.  For additional information and applications call Christie Cantu 665-3665 or email
