Continuing with the Division of Information Technology’s mission to provide value and cost savings, we are notifying our customers that telephone calls to the following counties - Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy, Starr and Zapata are now considered local calls. The only county from the Upper Rio Grande Valley considered long distance is Webb County.

For local calls (from Roma to South Padre to Raymondville), please dial 9, followed by the 7 digit number. There is no need to dial the area code.

For long distance calls and the Laredo area, please dial 9 followed by 1-(Area Code)-(7 digit number).
If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact the IT Help Desk at 956-665-2020.
