Every Alumni, Every Year.........

You’ve been called “student” for a long time. Now, it’s almost time for you and your fellow graduates of the Class of 2012 to proudly assume a new title – “UT Pan American Alumni.”  

As one of UTPA’s newest and “proudest” alums, you can show your support for your university immediately upon receiving your degree. How can you do that?  

It’s very simple. The Division of University Advancement team, as well as alumni volunteers, will be at Commencement on Saturday, December 15, to ask you to sign a waiver making the $20 you paid as a general property deposit when you first entered UTPA your very first gift as an alum to your alma mater.  

That’s important for two reasons: 1) It shows that you want to give back to the University that will be awarding you a degree on Saturday and 2) it will help the University increase its very important alumni participation rate, a metric by which UTPA is judged in rankings and by corporations and foundations when they are making their own philanthropic decisions.  

So, when we see you on Commencement Day, we’ll say “CONGRATULATIONS,” and we hope you’ll say
COUNT ME IN.
