Greek Scholars at The University of Texas Pan American were honored today as the newest initiates into the Eta Xi chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha, national Greek Academic Honor Society.

Edinburg, TX, November 27, 2012 – Greek Scholars at The University of Texas Pan American were honored today as the newest initiates into the Eta Xi chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha, national Greek Academic Honor Society. The Eta Xi chapter inducted eleven members into the honor society. These eleven students qualified for membership based on achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above at the start of their junior year. The members took the oath to support and encourage academic excellence. With their academic achievement, these Greek members are upholding the Scholarship Pillar of the Fraternity and Sorority community at UTPA.
Gamma Sigma Alpha is the premier academic Greek honorary, initiating over 2000 students annually. Gamma Sigma Alpha is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and has 200 chapters across the country and in Canada.
