Women’s Faculty Network Kick-Off Merienda
Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
Borderlands Room in EDCC 3.204

As part of UTPA’s National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE grant entitled “Attracting and Nurturing Women Faculty at a Hispanic-Serving Institution,” we are establishing the UTPA Women’s Faculty Network.

You are cordially invited to participate in our kick-off event! Hear about upcoming events, meet women faculty from across campus, and enjoy the merienda. A merienda (pronounced mare-ee-EHN-dah ) is the late-afternoon snack eaten between la comida (lunch) and la cena (dinner).

The goal of the NSF ADVANCE grant is to transform institutions of higher education in ways that increase the representation and advancement of women in science, technology, mathematics, and engineering careers. The goal will be realized through targeted initiatives in the areas of Faculty Recruitment and Advancement, Policy and Climate, as well as Education and Empowerment. Our ultimate goal is to address the issues that have constrained the recruitment, retention, and advancement of all women faculty at UT-Pan American.

Please RSVP by December 3rd:
