The Archer Center Summer 2013 Graduate Program in Public Policy

The Archer Center Graduate Program in Public Policy was established by The University of Texas System as a way to bring graduate students studying policy and politics to our nation’s Capital to learn about the federal government and public service.  For any graduate student interested in American governance, the experience of living and working in Washington, D.C. is like none other.  Enrollment in the Graduate Program in Public Policy is limited and is determined by a competitive process.  The application process consists of two parts: (1) selection of semi-finalists based on submission of application material; and (2) interviews of the semi-finalists after which program participants will be chosen.

The Graduate Program in Public Policy consists of living in the heart of Washington, D.C., for a twelve-week summer program.  Participants will earn nine in-residence credit hours, combining substantive academic coursework and a working internship on Capitol Hill, at an Executive Branch agency or other Washington, D.C. governmental or non-governmental organization.  We are pleased to be able to offer this experience to graduate students of The University of Texas System.

The Summer 2013 Graduate Program in Public Policy application deadline is Wednesday, November 7, 2012!   Interested students may contact The Archer Center website for updated information on how to apply (www.archercenter.org).

You may also contact Ms. Myrna Ruiz for additional information.  An application will be available at the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning (SEEL) website (www.utpa.edu/seel).

Thank you for your interest in The Archer Center Graduate Program in Public Policy!
