Telephone System Upgrade - Campus Wide - Friday October 23rd, 2009 at 7:00pm

Good afternoon everyone

Telephone Services will be upgrading the Telephone System’s software, operating system, and hardware on Friday October 23, 2009 after 7:00 pm.
 
We expect to have rolling outages across campus as equipment is worked on, but any one telephone station should only be affected for a period of approximately 5 minutes when the telephone port is migrated to new equipment. We are setting aside an 8 hour window to address any unforeseen events that may surface during this upgrade, but we expect to complete the upgrade within 4 hours.
 
The first telephone stations to be migrated will be the UTPA Police Department’s emergency number and all emergency telephones and elevator emergency telephones across campus.
 
Should you experience any problems after this maintenance window, please contact the Helpdesk at extension 2020. Please forward this information to staff and faculty in your departments who may find this information pertinent.
