Good afternoon everyone!
Please refer to emergency network maintenance notification below from our Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Our South Texas Transport Provider will be doing emergency network maintenance on Artesia Wells amplifier site to remedy a network problem.
This work is scheduled for tonight September 3rd at 11:30pm with a maintenance window of two hours to mitigate any unforeseen difficulties which may arise in the process. The expected network down time is expected to be no more than 5 minutes.
During the maintenance window, all UT institutions and customers in the Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi will experience a brief Internet outage as the equipment is worked on. Refer to notification below for additional details.
Please note this work will only impact Internet & Internet2 access. It will not impact any UTPA intra-campus communication as it involves equipment configuration outside the campus.
Should you experience any problems after this maintenance window, please contact the Helpdesk at extension x2020. In addition, please feel free to forward this information to staff and faculty in your departments who may find this information pertinent. Thank you.

VTXC will do an emergency maintenance tonight at the Artesia Wells amplifier site to remedy a threshold alarm. At this time the alarm is not a service affecting. However, VTXC would like to take care of this situation as soon as possible.
The spans between Laredo and San Antonio will have to be put Out-of-Service to balance the light levels around the South Texas Ring.
This work should be service affecting for five (5) minutes or less. However, one and one-half hours (1.5) has been reserved for unforeseen problems.
