UTPA Continuing Education is partnering with Knowsys Test Prep to offer SAT preparation courses to the community beginning Saturday, July 22.

Knowsys is hiring teachers and tutors now. Knowsys will be interviewing and then conducting a training course over the next few weeks.

Knowsys offers great part-time teaching jobs with excellent pay and training.

Job Description: OVERVIEW OF A COLLEGIATE G FORCE Graduate MENTOR (CGF) - A network of students located in public colleges, universities, and technical schools across Texas. Go Centers provide students with access to information about higher education, while also reaching out to those who may have previously considered continuing their education beyond high school.  CGF Graduate Mentor will provide middle and high students with college information in forms of PowerPoint presentations and raise awareness among students on the value of higher education, show them how to prepared for college both academically and financially and motivate students to successfully pursue higher education. Mentors will perform stage presentations in front of an audience, or in a one to one person.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Present College information
*Collect data from all HS and MS Go Centers
*Efficient in data entry (Will be responsible for entering classified information for program)
*Assist with the supervision of Collegiate G-Force Mentors
*Mentor students
*Train HS and Collegiate G-Force mentors
*Help set up, launch, and run Go Centers
*Visit assigned high schools weekly
*Conduct go center site visits
*Assist with coordinating High School and Collegiate G-Force Trainings
*Attend community events
*Make the transition from high school to college easier for students
*Use technical equipment such as lap tops, computers, projectors, digital cameras, and office-like materials.  

Qualifications:
*Work Study eligible and must have an unmet need of 2000 (can check with Financial Aid Office for amount of unmet need).
*Open to all majors interested in helping others achieve their goals
*Must be a graduate student
*Student must be able to promote and communicate higher education to others
*2.5 min GPA
