Forums set to discuss increase in designated tuition and fees at UTPA

The University of Texas-Pan American's Cost of Education Committee is soliciting input from students, faculty, staff and the community on a proposal to increase designated tuition and fees that would take effect Fiscal Year 2011-2012. The Cost of Education Committee which is recommending the increase is hosting community forums Nov. 9, 10 and 11. 

Since 2000, there has been a steady decrease in funding from the state pressuring the University to depend more heavily on designated tuition. Read More

Cooperative Ph.D. program in Spanish receives $297,000 grant

The University of Texas-Pan American was recently awarded a $297,000 grant to strengthen the cooperative Ph.D. program in Spanish between UTPA and the University of Houston. The grant, which was awarded by the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), will be used to improve the existing program and expand it to other disciplines. Read More
