2003 TRACK OUTLOOK: Drury’s specialty is the pole vault, and she will be looking to better her school record. COACH’S COMMENTS: “Rachel is a very hard worker and really has a desire to succeed. If she can stay healthy, she can go 12 feet or higher this season.” 2001-02: Drury posted an indoor school record of 10-6 at the Houston Open, then redshirted outdoors. 2000-01: She set a new school record in the vault, clearing 10-6 at the Oregon Invitational. 1999-00: As a sophomore, Drury broke both the indoor (10-0 3/4 at Run-Sport Open) and the outdoor (10-2 at Texas Relays) school records. Along the way, she picked up a pair of victories, as well as a pair of runner-up finishes. 1998-99: Drury began her career with an indoor school record 9-0 1/4 at the Houston Invitational. She also earned a pair of victories at the UTPA Invitational and the UTPA Spring Fever Open, while finishing second at both the Border Olympics and the LSU Purple Tiger Open. PREP: Drury captured the Idaho State pole vault championship in both her junior (1997) and senior (1998) seasons.
